Outreach & Advocacy

Rituals for Recovery provides trauma relief support through women centered advocacy, outreach services, holistic care, therapy, education, and training for survivors of complex trauma. By sharing our resources and expertise with the community, we can advocate important issues that impact the broader community (safety, violence, addiction, mental health, physical wellbeing, and access to community services to name a few). We stand for social justice, equality, and fairness. Working to create positive change, we represent the voices of survivors, those who are often left out of development decisions such as women, youth, and marginalized groups. Keeping women’s issues in the forefront of the public and the government’s minds, we bring forward matters as they affect women’s ability to fully recover in the aftermath of trauma.

Rituals for Recovery supports and encourages different forms of volunteering - all types of expertise are needed and welcome in our community. We provide a platform for people to shape the places and spaces where they live, work, and play. Rituals for Recovery strongly believes that the social relationships intrinsic to volunteer work are critical to individual and community well-being.

Our volunteers are valued members of our organization who are committed to making a difference through high level compassionate care. They bring culturally diverse experiences which expand the capacity to offer direct services to create impact - contributing significantly to community health and overall quality of life.

We seek to enrich the lives of survivors in communities across Ontario, to do this we focus on supporting women who have been impacted by trauma, to re-establish a sense of safety, connection, and community. We increase the sense of self-worth and self confidence of each woman that is connected in any manner to Rituals for Recovery. We believe that every woman has the right to free herself of shame, to have her voice heard and to make her own choices about how she lives her life. By building women’s capacity, acting as a catalyst for change, Rituals for Recovery empowers women to heal, rise-up, claim their power, regain their dignity, and re-build their lives.
