RfR in the Community

Trauma Responsive Communities is Rituals for Recovery’s comprehensive model for rebuilding communities by restoring relationships, providing trauma responsive training and prevention and intervention services to marginalized groups in targeted neighbourhoods.

The system will be characterized by stabilization, safety from physical harm and re-traumatization; an understanding of clients and their symptoms in the context of their life experiences and history, cultures, and their society; open and genuine collaboration between provider and consumer at all phases of service delivery including the co-creation of a holistic recovery plan; an emphasis on capacity building, overall wellbeing and acquisition  rather than symptom management; an understanding of trauma responses as attempts to cope; a community mobilizing model that is grounded in the ideal that community members are the experts when it comes to identifying and addressing what issues are affecting them most.

The main components of TRC will include,

  • Rituals for Recovery Mobile Care Clinics
  • RfR Help Line
  • Leadership, Recovery, Prevention, Intervention and Trauma Resolution services for marginalized groups
  • Community Healing Arts Institutes & Trauma Resource Centers.
  • Trauma Responsive Mind Body Wellness & SEL Educational workshops and leadership training for social service agencies, hospitals, emergency responders, and service providers.
  • Awareness and response training for site faculty and staff.
  • Prevention and trauma responsive framework implementation, protocol, and policy development.

Does this sound like something your community could use ?  If your a non-profit organization, investor or funder, RfR would love to explore ways we can work together.

RfR in the Workplace

Trauma responsive workplaces infuse an understanding of trauma and its impact into the organizations culture, policies, and practices with the goals of maximizing physical and psychological safety, mitigating factors that contribute to stress, burnout, trauma and re-traumatization, supporting the recovery and health of its workforce. Implementing a trauma informed and responsive approach, requires change at multiple levels of an organization and systemic alignment with the five principles of trauma informed care within each of the following domains: organizational leadership, training and workforce development, policy and decision making, physical environment, continuous quality improvement, stress management and employee wellbeing. How an organization applies the principles in each domain will be unique and dependent upon the role, responsibilities, mission, and purpose of the organization.

RfR in Schools

Trauma Responsive Schools is Rituals for Recovery's comprehensive model for providing training, prevention, and intervention services in our educational institutions.

Trauma Responsive Schools aligns with our current efforts to ignite and sustain a community-wide movement to combat complex trauma and stop the stigma and suffering that result’s from it, eliminating ACES, and ending all forms of violence that is inclusive of at-risk young people, their families, their direct service providers, and the institutions that serve them.

To create a cultural shift to one in which abuse, and violence is not tolerated, RfR tailors proven and successful strategies––individual and group support, public education, workforce training, community organizing, advocacy, youth leadership development, and expertise in trauma informed and responsive care––to our school communities. The overarching vision of trauma responsive schools is an improved school climate (in public primary, secondary and post secondary school settings) as a result of realigning and integrating school-based responses so that they reflect a coordinated, holistic, and replicable approach that is particularly inclusive to needs of individuals who have experienced trauma. An approach that recognizes the pervasiveness of trauma, addresses systems of oppression, violence, and mental health challenges, facilitates healing, supports optimal wellbeing, and prevents re-traumatization.
