If you're like 76% of the Canadian population, chances are you've experienced a traumatic event in your lifetime. If you're a survivor, supporting a loved one through trauma, or have been affected by trauma in some way, then your recovery story could empower over 28 million people.
As part of its Shame Shifter's "Rebuilding Communities Project" Rituals for Recovery is encouraging trauma survivors to "Be a Voice Not an Echo" and empower the movement against complex trauma. One of the ways we're asking survivors to do that is by sharing stories of how they recovered from trauma. These stories will serve as messages of hope to those who need it, and proof that healing is possible.
Whether you're recovering from abandonment, violence, abuse, narcissism, addiction, loss of a loved one, bullying or any other type of trauma, your voice could make a difference. It could be someone else's solution, opportunity for lasting change, and inspiration to begin.
We would like to share your story on our website and social media as a message of hope and inspiration for others. If your story is selected, we will contact you for permission to share it.
"The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."
