About Manouk

Manouk is an IAYT-certified Yoga Therapist and E-RYT500 Yoga Teacher, and has been a dedicated practitioner since 2006.

She has lived and taught in many different countries around the world, including Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Panama and France. She specializes in the remedial application of movement and breathwork, and particularly focuses on practices that encourage embodiment, empowerment and nervous system regulation.

She first stepped on a yoga mat in 2006, as she was facing recurring feelings of stress and anxiety. She found yoga to be a practice where she felt safe, strong and content with herself and the ever-changing world around her.

In 2014, she was diagnosed with early heart failure, due to a congenital heart defect from birth. She went through two open-heart surgeries to replace her pulmonary valve, and was offered no physical rehabilitation or psychological support afterwards as doctors believed being a “young, fit woman in her twenties” was enough reason to recover. Unfortunately, they were wrong, and this led to debilitating health anxiety, chronic pain and a hypersensitive nervous system.

Despite these setbacks, Manouk went back to her yoga mat and adapted her practice to be considerate of her circumstances. She set about creating an intuitive and compassionate way of moving, breathing and being. Ten months after those surgeries, she crossed the finish line of her first triathlon, and soon after completed her 500 hour Yoga Teacher Training in Purna Yoga under the guidance of John Ogilvie at Byron Yoga Centre in Australia.

When her father passed away in 2018, Manouk used yoga as a spiritual guidance and personal therapy to process her grief. She had found in it a way of life that supported her quest to find balance and feel at peace. Yoga had become so much more than stretching and breathwork, it was an essential tool to help navigate the challenges she faced in her life.

Manouk had already adopted a Body-Mind approach and Bio-Psycho-Social lens with many of her students and clients, and had seen the profound impact it was having on their health and well-being, so she decided to cement her own learnings and experience by becoming a C-IAYT Yoga Therapist, training with Montserrat G. Mukherjee at The Yoga Therapy Institute in Amsterdam.

Currently Manouk works with students and clients around the world, both online and in-person, through 1-on-1 Yoga Therapy sessions and small-group yoga sessions. She has particularly specialized in working with people who are facing long-term stress, anxiety, burn-out, trauma, sleep issues, and big life changes.  She also leads 200hr Yoga Teacher Trainings in Europe, and continues to evolve as a Yoga Therapist and student, through training and practicing with senior teachers. She remains focused on developing a deeper insight into promoting traditional teachings in a contemporary and accessible manner.
