Vilija Batten

With a strong background in the nonprofit sector, Vilija brings experience in advocacy and outreach, fundraising and events, and volunteer administration. Her commitment to community building has been demonstrated through her work with Habitat for Humanity Edmonton, Peel District School Board, and University of Toronto Mississauga. Now in her fourth year pursuing an HBA in Sociology and Political Science at the University of Toronto, Vilija is eager to draw on her experience to support Rituals for Recovery in its mission.

Through her involvement in community organizations and as a parent to three teenage children, Vilija strongly believes that people are best able to thrive when connected to community and that communities function best when there is collective input and equitable access to services, information, and education.
